Questions for Muslims about Christians?
I have read parts of the Qur'an that seem to support Muslim/Christian unity and peace...while there are other suras that seem to imply that Muslims should be hostile toward Christians.
I am not attacking Islam; I am a teacher and have had many Muslim students over the years, and believe it or not, every one of them has been hardworking, kind, and respectful. With this in mind:
1) Do you believe the Qur'an encourages peace and unity among Christians and Muslims? Or does it encourage hostility?
2) If someone comes says to me, "Muslims believe if you are not a follower of Islam, you are doomed," how should I respond?
Please reference The Qur'an in your answer if possible. Thanks in advance for all respectful, thoughtful answers. Haters of Islam need not answer.
Peace/Shalom/Salaam

I think the first poster is drunk. lol
Anyway... to answer your question(s):
1. Islam encourages peace & kindness among everyone who isn't at war against us.
[Quran 60:8] Allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of (your) religion, and have not driven you forth from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them justly; surely Allah loves the doers of justice.
2. "Only God knows who goes to Heaven/Hell"

1) Quran teaches respect to all creatures of Allah and when we come across ignorant people who do not want to even learn about Islam, instead they would rather ridicule us, the quran says to reply "Peace to you we do not argue with the ignorant." It does not say go and kill them.
2) That is incorrect as the Quran has said 22:17 Indeed, those who have believed and those who were Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians and the Magians and those who associated with Allah - Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allah is, over all things, Witness.
Islam never says its this way or hell. Their are many paths to our creator and if anything, Islam is considered the best path. The Quran says for the Christians and Jews if they convert they would get double the reward since they believed twice. Even in Islam, there are different sects. It is inappropriate to say all are going to hell, but instead that one is better than the other is better.

1. Islam is a peaceful religion. I'd be surprised if it said anything about hostility towards Christians. That's just how the radicals interpret it.
2. Tell them that virtually every religion on the planet says the same exact thing. Most religions have their own version of hell where you supposedly go if you don't follow the religion, so there's really no need to worry about it. Chances are (in my view) none of them are correct and they are all just mythical scare tactics to get you to believe. I think all religion is a bunch of fairy tales, so to speak.

Salam, I liked your question haha
Yes I do believe The Quran does encourage peace between everyone in the world, no matter what religion. And If you read the Quran, then it says what happens to the non-believers, Im not going to say that they are going to be 'doomed' though. You should just think about what your going to do next, I mean it takes one to know one, right?

i don't sense that because of the fact somebody isn't Christian, they are going to hell. i've got faith that God is only and could choose all and sundry for this reason. I won't anticipate that all and sundry would be in heaven or hell, that may no longer my organization, nor my concern. with reference to the 2nd question, i do no longer know if that query would properly be responded to all and sundry's satisfaction; it may probable develop greater questions than solutions. i've got faith that God revealed himself to the 1st human beings, Adam and Eve. i do no longer know precisely whilst that grow to be, and easily whilst it grow to be isn't that substantial to me. it form of feels to me that a fabulous variety of people anticipate that God had no longer been revealed formerly the time of historic civilizations, and with stable reason because there is not any longer plenty information related to His existence from that factor. yet in the Bible, from the very commence guy starts rejecting, disobeying, belittling God, etc. ought to guy have perverted the character/thought/revelation of God to the factor that they believed in the gods they believed in, for this reason changing the recollection of Him? it form of sounds like human beings could extremely blame God for no longer revealing himself extremely of blaming guy for rejecting Him. i do no longer unavoidably have faith this as actuality...i'm form of only musing on the region...very exciting subject remember.
