my thumb is swelling after bowling.?

hello,

i use to bowl every saturday night for 2-4 hours (by myself), but after bowling my thumb is swelling. i have to wait 4-5 days before my thumbs come back to normal size.

if i ever want to bowl on sunday or on the week, i can't put my thumb in the hole.

do you have any suggestion that could help me? well of course, i could play less hours on saturday but except that, do you have any other suggestion?

It sounds like your ball is not properly drilled for your hand. You should get a pro-shop person to measure your hand and they will make an adjustment to it. Or if that is something you don't want to do when you get home Saturday soak your hand in cold icy water. That should help. But the span is what I feel is wrong. I have been bowling for over 30 years.
