Blood sugar and insulin resistance?
I was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance and I know how it works and all. I have been working out an hour a day and not loosing weight I went and bought a glucose monitor to see what spikes my blood sugar. I am now doing a diet similar to atkins with low carbs and now I'm getting all my carbs from fruit in veggies since they do not spike my blood sugar. Will keeping my blood sugar level help me loose weight with insulin resistance?

It's important to keep blood sugar under control, yes, but it's not blood sugar that's an impediment to weight loss as much as it is hyperinsulinemia (high insulin levels) caused by your insulin resistance. Insulin promotes fat storage on the body.
Reducing carbohydrates has a positive two-fold effect: 1) protein and fat require much less insulin to metabolize and so insulin levels will go down, making weight loss more likely and 2) controlling blood sugar and insulin will hopefully slow down the progress of the disease, helping you delay or avoid the onset of Type 2 diabetes.
Exercise also improves insulin sensitivity, so you'll need less insulin the more active you are.
If the diet and exercise don't result in weight loss, then you may need a small dose of Metformin for insulin resistance. Metformin, in conjunction with a low-carbohydrate diet, can really do a lot of good. By cutting my carbs and taking Metformin, I've lost about 100 pounds.

I need a little more info, this is what I can tell you. Exercise will help your body become less resistant to insulin. Diet and exercise will help you lose weight with insulin resistance, it just may not occur as quick as you like If I knew your diet, if you take meds, your age and weight I could help more. My blog is free, no ad's, no asking for money (may be a quarter :)
