I sell appliances. What's best way to thank my customers and offer a discount to all returning customers.?

I'm thinking of sending a postcard to all my customers to thank them and offer them the discount if they return and place another order through me. It would also apply to friends and family. I'm just not sure how to briefly express it in an attention getting manner. I'm thinking of having the postcards made someplace like Staples.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your business

and consideration in the past. To show my appreciation, I am glad

to be able to offer you a 10% discount on your next purchase if you

allow me to handle it for you; this is a personal thanks from me and

not the store. Please let me know if I can be helpful or of service

to you again. I really appreciate your confidence and trust in me.

something along those lines conveys what you're trying to do; makes it

clear its you/not the store handing out the money

Kerry is on the right track but his choice of wording is much too stiff, no fun, not friendly etc. etc. Look at the mail you get that has the kind of offer you are looking at. It needs to be colorful, simple, friendly. Hire someone to write your text for you and then take it to any printer and see what they will charge to put it together. I assume you have a data base of prior customers from which to make your mailing list.
