Why do creationists seem to think gravity is more factual than evolution?

While the two are facts, what makes them think that the theory of gravity is stronger than the theory of evolution. Evolution is more backed up and far more understood than gravity and yet these people seem to think that since the theory of gravity contains Newton's laws of gravitation it is on a different level.

If you have any knowledge of physics at all, you'd know that we know very little about gravity except for it being there. We don't know why it works, how it works or what triggers it to work.

There are very few major questions left unanswered. It is far easier to understand for the public than the curvature of spacetime which gravity seems to operate under.

Here's a comic

Update:

@Ray

I wasn't using that as evidence.It's wildly known that gravity isn't understood and that comic just points that out.

    Probably just from the superficial aspects. Gravity is a fact while, since Evolution never stops, it will always be regarded as a theory.

    1. creation and evolution are from the same stable so to say.

    2. gravity is as yet still a mystery and will be a while before it is fully understood.

    3. electricity has been in use for ages now but it is still not as yet understood.

    4 science has a very long way to go but soon enough some further proofs will be forthcoming.

    Bias.

    Edit:

    @Vincent:

    Gravity is not fully understood, not nearly so much as evolution. Most of our understanding comes from General Relativity, which I don't think is generally 3rd grade material.

    Essentially it's seen as an emergent phenomenon of curved space-time. However, by our understanding of quantum mechanics, gravity should have a quantised form, yet we have not detected it so far.

    To describe gravity as a "law" is simply semantics, as that describes observed behaviour, whereas the theories of gravity (there have been several) explain such behaviour. To say it is a law and NOT a theory is incorrect.

    When most Christians talk about evolution, they're referencing the origin of life. This is a part of evolutionary theory that is far from substantiated; indeed it is entirely unprovable.

    Now, the parts of evolutionary theory which are 100% verifiable are the areas of adaptation and genetic drift. We can observe these things happening throughout the fossil record and even in recorded history. Not a whole lot of Christians will spend a lot of time arguing over this, as it has very little to do with the faith.

    Gravity is really easy to accept because when you drop something it falls down. Have a nice day with the theorizing, I'll be over here enjoying the fact that I'm not drifting off into space.

    Dear Daughter of King Jesus

    Using a creationist christian website, which displays in the banner "God's Message is our Mission" to debunk evolution is not a good idea. Not one piece of "information" on that webpage is correct or not loaded to bursting point with bias. If this is where you get your information from, I suggest switching sources immediately.

    Not that I'm arguing for the creationists here, but evolution is a theory, and gravity is a law.

    There is a difference.

    Also, It's not "wildly known" that gravity isn't understood. The Law of Gravity is understood perfectly fine by just about everyone who's ever passed the third grade, and your claim that it's somehow a mystery as to how gravity operates and what causes it is absurd in the extreme.

    Gravity doesn't contradict a literal interpretation of Genesis, therefore they think it's better science.

    Because gravity doesn't contradict their God so they have no problem accepting it. Since Evolution does contradict God though, they have a much harder time accepting that

    Exactly!

    Quantum physics has yet to find an explanation for gravity.

    Most creationists have been dropped on their head, so they understand gravity.
