Hotels in Malacca. Don't know which one to consider.?
I'm planning a trip to Malacca. All Adults. We want a relaxing, clean hotel. Don't mind paying around RM200 to RM300. No need for freebies and internet. Just an intimate location. Close as possible to town center since we're gonna be without a car.
Here's a list of what I looked at so far, but with the mixed reviews from trip advisor its hard to decide.
Jonker Boutique
Mahkota Melaka
Holiday Inn
Aldy Hotel
Any experience you guys may have with the hotels in the area would be helpful. doesn't have to be those on the list only. Usually have relatives there, but this time we're out of luck! LOL..
Pricing isnt really the issue at the moment. I just need to know if you've had a good hotel stay in malacca and if you could recommend any around the town/beach area.
Thank you!
You guys are awesome! thank u so much for the help. Please keep it coming... I'm gonna make the decision in a day or two..
Jonker boutique was a choice because of its location.. but i thought about the street fair during the nights and well.. i'm wondering if it'll be.. well.. noisy at night? u know?
Puri was also one of the choices but a F-O-A-F said it isn't well maintained any longer.. dilemma!
I really appreciate all the answers.. please tell me more. THNX!

Mahkota Melaka.
Cuz its right opposite the mall, Melaka Parade.
its a tad bit expensive. but its worth it :D
if its like less than 4 adults, then the 1 bedroom apartment would accomodate.
plus, its right beside a beach.

Hotel Equatorial at Jalan Bandar Hilir is beside some of the oldest school in Malacca.A stone throw away is the famous A' Formosa fortress and just across the hotel is the Mahkota Parade Shopping Complexes and the hotel also command a panoramic view of the Straits of Malacca.
If you like to experience staying in old colonial days refurbished buildings,go for Jonker Boutique Hotel which is nearest to town and within walking distances to all the historical sites.Located in Jonker Walk where right in front of the boutique hotel is a stage where there will be cultural performance nightly and the Baba and Nyonya Restaurant is just beside it which I'm sure you would like to have a taste of peranakan cuisines.
Tourists all over the world will never miss visiting this Jonker Walk with the many souvenir shops and food stalls.Backpackers hostels are also near to Jonker Walk..
The only beach area I would recommend is about 28 km from town, the Tanjong Bidara Resort. which is in the direction en route to Port Dickson.
How about watching the sunset by the beach,go to Tanjong Kling Motel,12km from town and enjoy your coconut drink and dinner beside the beach while listening to the music.
Have a nice day in historical Malacca.

Hotel Puri in Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock adjacent to Jonker Street. Puri is an enchanting old Baba and Nyonya house with very steep in Chinese architecture. Quaint and serene with courtyard. It has this small pool in door. Offer body massage as well. Staff are quite friendly. Service is good though it could have been better. Food is not so good though. Jonker Street is only a stone throw away.

In terms of location, Aldy Hotel is hard to beat. Right on the doorsteps of all the historical attractions with Chinatown a few steps away. You need to book early though..
If you want a comfortable stay Holiday Inn's for you. A bit out of the way facing the Straits of Malacca. 15 mins leisurely walk to Chinatown & historical areas (You'll need to cross a dual carriage way with speeding traffic). The hotel do offer complimentary bus shuttle for guests to Chinatown & surrounding area (2-3 hr interval).

i prefer Baba House, you are going to Melaka for the history aren't you, that is a nice place and it is leser than RM200 and at a good location too, without a car it is quite difficult to travel
