Employers have potential employees practically beating down their doors - you are expected to go to them, not for them to come find you.
Go to the companies' websites and apply directly with them. Send out your resume. YOU are the one who needs to do the work here to get your resume into employers hands - you cannot expect them to come to you (or even go to a website like gumtree to find candidates), especially in this economic times.
