Can an American can get a Korean work Visa through the U.S. Embassy in Italy, while in Italy?
I'm an American citizen getting a job in South Korea. My employer will pay for my Visa, but before the job starts, I would like to be with my family in Italy. Is it possible for me to conduct this through an American embassy in Italy?

Visa for Korea will be obtained from the Korean Consulate
you should apply from your home country
THe US embassy cannot give you a korean visa

As uncle said, it is best to apply in your home country since your ties are in the US. What's to stop you from obtaining the Visa at a Korean Consulate here in the US, then go on your vacation in Italy on your way to Korea? Korean Air and Asiana both fly to Rome.
