  • Is it legal for my Italian uncle to transfer money from her credit card to my American bank account?

tl;dr - Is it legal for my American bank account to receive money from my Italian uncle's Italian credit card?

I'm an American stuck in Italy with bills to pay in America. Bills have ran my American bank account dry during my stay. My student loan services seem to only want to accept money from my checking account. Therefore I must find a way to send the money I have here to my account there.

How should I go about doing this LEGALLY?

Western Union says if my uncle creates an account, he can use his credit card to transfer money to my checking account in the states. Same goes for my fiancee.

My concern is whether or not this is legal.

I in no way want to be doing anything remotely suspicious or borderline legal. I try very hard to avoid any trouble from the authorities (IRS, FBI, and heaven forbid the DHS). But with all the anti-terror money laundering laws, I'm a bit scared.

    Your advice is appreciated!

    Thanks!

  • Does whey protect the stomach from Ibuprofen and Naproxen?

I read that it's beneficial to drink milk while taking NSAIDS like Ibuprofen (which I was given 600mg to take every 6 hours for an inflamed bursa) and Naproxen. Can't find the source, but I believe it had to do with balancing the acidity of the stomach, and possibly some other components protecting the lining of the stomach.

Any chance that whey protein, a derivative of milk, possesses some of the compounds that offer the same benefits?

  • Is 2 or 3 weeks in the fridge too long for my deer stock?

I boiled a deer stock 2 or 3 Sundays ago and forgot it was in the fridge. Is it unsafe to boil it again for a soup?

  • Should I be worried about my April 16th flight from Philly to Rome being cancelled because of the sequester?

They're talking about furloughing TSA and FAA employees.

Philly international isn't on the list of airports that could be shutdown, but I'm still worried.

    What would I do?

    It's with US Airways

  • How do I convince my irrational mother to let us bow hunt on her property?

She said she'll call the police on my friends if she sees us bow hunting on her property (I do live with her) because she likes the deer. I tried explaining to her that the current population is reaching its carrying capacity and she says then the guy down the road will shoot them or they'll get hit by a car.

Then I told her he is only allowed to shoot one per season and that the overpopulation is encouraging more deer to leave the forest and cross the road into suburbia so it's better if we get the deer before a car does that way it's not a waste of life and it doesn't die in vain. Then comes the whole "I hate hunters! I hate seeing deer die!"

Even if I tell her that there is such a high concentration of deer trapped in this little forest that requires crossing busy roads and land development to get to other forests will only cause more deaths by car, starvation, and disease, she still goes on this emotional tirade and runs away from me.

  • What is the minimum amount that must be paid towards medical bills to avoid them going to a collection agency?

I've been told that as long as you pay some amount monthly the bills cannot be sent to a collection agency.

How much is the minimum amount?

Is this by law? If so, could I please see the source of this law?

Does paying this impact my credit score?

  • How much of a finger tip can be missing if you want to enlist?

I've been thinking of becoming an USAF officer candidate, but today I lost 1/3 of the tip of my dominate index finger. (link to picture below)

Although I fractured the bone, it is all still there. Seems I only lost some meat.

My plans to begin any official recruitment processes were not until at least September, but I'm willing to postpone so long as I am still eligible. To be an Air Force officer has been my dream since I was 8 (I'm 25 tomorrow)

  • Besides bars, clubs, parties that remind you of college, what else is there to do on weekends?

I'm 24 and bored out of my mind every weekend. Most of my intellectual and nerdy friends moved to bigger cities or research universities. The rest just drink every Friday and Saturday night. I don't really like drinking that much, and I don't like to go dancing at the clubs for hours or every weekend.

Some people say that will be the end of my social life but then I see these cute girls in their 20s and 30s running at 9 am on a Saturday - were they out clubbing until 2am? Probably not. So what do you in a small city?

Is this an unusual thing for my age? I'm sociable. A little shy, but extroverted and I love conversing, debating, meeting new people, etc.

I just want to get away from alcohol and do something other than dancing/clubbing.

  • Can someone help me decide if I should join a particular Presidential campaign?

I know the campaign manager of one of three most likely candidates to become president. I am not a partisan person and I do not want to alienate any of my friends, associates, or contacts who dislike this candidate.

I am doing thing partly for the experience, since I am 24, underemployed, though lucky enough to know a campaign manager well enough to get at least a minor role that no local party branch could offer a recent college graduate. But I am also doing this to meet interesting and exciting people who may even some day open up some doors in the future.

Should I take advantage of this given the risks of disapproving this in the future? What if I develop a good connection with one of my Senators and they are of the opposite party?

  • Is it effective to ask your State rep./sen. to contact your congressional rep./sen?

My issue is that my senators and congressman are trying to tell me that their constituents in my congressional district are not concerned about two upcoming acts. I can easily get enough constituents to contact our state legislators to deliver a more serious message (since a member of congress is more likely to listen to them than each of us).

Note: I am not trying to cross over state and federal politics; I just want my state representative to do this because he has a more influence than an ordinary citizen.

Does the same go for local to state, or local to federal?

  • Should I have fed this homeless guy's dog?

I bought a homeless druggie's dog $30 worth of food and chewables. Was this a wise choice?

The dog he rescued was in decent shape. I'm just afraid of enabling this. Could he swap the food for crack?

  • How do the WS Occupants feel about the Fair Tax?

Tax people on how much they cost the public sector and provide them with a prebate to cover the basic costs of living.

It would make life affordable for the very lowest earners and charge the top 1% for all the money they cost the public

  • What game parodies the GTA series?

I know there are alot of games similar to GTA, but this was supposed to be thoroughly mocking the stupid stuff you can do in it. I played it a few years ago at friends. Pretty sure it was a PS3 and not a 360. I think you could play a fat guy and a clown in it.

  • What are ideal places to meet smart women?

She doesn't have to be a nerd, but I'm tired of girls at the bar or the club. They may be attractive and extra fun, but most of them fail to stimulate me intellectually.

I suppose the difficulty here is that many intellectual women are shy or are found in places where they don't want to be harassed by men looking to "hook up", like a book store, and suspect me of being one of these men (even though I have no "small talk" skills whatsoever).
