Does whey protect the stomach from Ibuprofen and Naproxen?

I read that it's beneficial to drink milk while taking NSAIDS like Ibuprofen (which I was given 600mg to take every 6 hours for an inflamed bursa) and Naproxen. Can't find the source, but I believe it had to do with balancing the acidity of the stomach, and possibly some other components protecting the lining of the stomach.

Any chance that whey protein, a derivative of milk, possesses some of the compounds that offer the same benefits?

I am pretty sure it's the calcium in milk that is doing the acid sypression. Does whey milk have calcium. I don't know. I'd not try a handful of tums. They are naught buy calcium carbonate
