How do you mount red faction 2 on a virtual drive for steam?

I just bought red faction 2 for steam and it says I need to put in disc 1 to run it but I am on a netbook, and when I searched for how to fix this problem I found people saying I need to put it on a virtual drive, how do I do that?

Update:

OK I have found I can use Daemon tools, but what files do I look for in my steam file to add to the virtual drive?

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\(username here)/Red Faction (im using w7 x64 lol :3)

    or

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\(username here)/common/Red Faction
