Chinese hamster dwarf questions!?
I'm going away for 2 days ... and i cant take my hamster with me, so how much food should i give her, the food i give her is not like fruit and vegetables its like a block like thing that they eat, it says to give them 2 each day, so does that mean i put 4 in the bowl, but what if he eats it all in one day, all so confusing? lol and water if i were to fill it up right before i left it would last until got back, my hamster doesn't drink as much. So if anybody actually has experience could please answer these questions.
Thankkyouu.

Rodents are extremely smart. They only eat when they're hungry...usually. Theres a few piggies that'll go all out, but typically they won't overeat.
Preferably, you could get a family member or a friend to just look after her for you. Just tell them that all they need to do is give her some food and change her water both days that you're gone. If you can't get a babysitter, just give her double or triple what you'd usually give her and give her the fresh water.
Also make sure that you clean the cage before you go, and give her a treat and remind her that you love her and you'll be back in a few days. Even if you don't believe that she understands you, it is comforting. My babies and I have that sort of ritual every time I have to leave them (even just to go to work or class) and they always popped up and went 'mommy's home!' when I got back. Just like cute little puppies. (Of course, I keep rats, and that's how rats always act...but it's adorable all the same.)
Have a good trip, wherever you're going. And I wish your little ham-ham well. :D

hamsters aren't like goldfish - they won't eat themselves to death. providing a few days' worth of food is always a good idea. if you're feeding them the block food, just throw a few extra in there with her and she'll be just fine. :)
