has anybody had their dog's hair made into clothing?

I throw away so much of my dogs undercoat - it is so soft and pure white, I looked up "what to do with it" on the internet and found so many sites that promote spinning it (after washing of course) and knitting into clothes etc!! Would you wear a dog hair jumper?

As a sheltie owner(12), you can imagine the hair in my house. There are several people on the net that spin dog hair into "yarn" and then it is knitted into hats, scarves, and mittens. Depending upon ther color, the finished yarn can be beautiful.

Sweaters are another product that can be knitted, and although I've not seen any, I can imagine how beautiful they could be.

Well, people talk about enough hair to knit a new dog. It could be the ultimate in bonding with your dog. Of course, I don't wear jumpers. Maybe a nice knit hat.

I have not, but if I ever get a Poodle I plan to keep the shaved hair and use it as pillow stuffing, I have always wanted to do that.

I would wear dog hair clothing, as long as I know the dog wasn't killed for it.

I have a co-worker that "spins" her dogs hair, and makes caps, gloves. They are really nice. Yes I would wear a dog hair jumper. They would cost big $$$ too.

You would wear dog hair? Treasure the dog that makes the hair, not the hair itself...

LOL :D, how funny would that look when you're walking your dog! So many people would whisper "well they say people look like their dogs!" I'm all for recycling maybe just not dog hair...

i used to have a bichon and saved up his fur and had it spun and made into mittens ... they were quite nice and did not have a doggie smell when they got wet :O)
