Why is it unreasonable for people to have information?
Why do so many people think it is unreasonable for those who come in for abortions to understand what they are about to do? Why can't they be given a flyer with basic information about the procedure and the fetus and then given 24 hours to make their final decision?
Does this in anyway violate a woman's privacy rights? If so, how?

Information is power.

It's not unreasonable at all. I'm all for having teens watching a video of an abortion in their sex education class.
I say this because, over time, abortions have been recognized more as a "problem solver" than as a live human being who is exterminated. Some feminist authors have even compared a fetus growing inside its mother, to an alien invading the woman. It's absolutely ridiculous.

All medicine works on informed consent. If they acknowledge that they understand the risks of the procedure and are mentally sound, then they can make their own decision.
You can think about it for 3 months or 20 seconds if you want.
The anti-choice crowd wants to mandate the dispersal of emotionally-manipulative propaganda. Women already get the facts about the procedure, they aren't trying to add more facts, they're trying to add an emotional element to the decision making process. That' manipulative and messed up.
How about before you're allowed to buy a gun, you have to watch a video of a child accidentally blowing his own head off? Or before you buy a carton of eggs, you have to watch a video of chickens getting their beaks cut off? How about before buying bacon, you have to watch a video of someone pulling a pigs teeth out with a pair of pliers?

I don't really agree with the concept but information can be so emotional or severe to create an emotional response which often overpowers the thought process. It is why some evidence, no matter how truthful and relevant, is prohibited (kept from the jury) in some criminal cases, especially the heinous ones.

OK, let's do that. But then let's give the woman TWO pamphlets--one from abortion supporters and one from opponents.
And while we're at it let's make owners of gun shops hand out pamphlets that inform people about how the gun they're about to buy is more likely to kill someone they love than a home intruder. Fair?

Why is it unreasonable for Republicans to have information and not propaganda? Why don't you guy guys understand what the issues are about and how they affect YOU. Why can't you guys be given a flyer with basic common sense information about how a particular vote will affect YOU?
Examples:
Voting against taxing the wealthy
Voting against Universal Healthcare
Voting to do away with Social Security and Medicare

Before you buy a car, you get the full info on it, they even have Carfax! When you go in for any other medical procedure, you are provided with full disclosure also. It makes sense to me, but then, how would they talk all of these poor young girls into doing it if they actually SAW what they were about to do.

I'm not opposed to offering women a flyer, but mandating that they take it, read it, watch an ultrasound is unconstitutional.

Simple. No Democrat is capable of tolerating the idea of anyone ever making an INFORMED choice about anything.
