Can I wear the same outfit for salsa & ballroom dancing?

I dance salsa but am new to ballroom. Going on a cruise with two ballrooms, one for salsa, one for ballroom. I will be in salsa but want to try ballroom too. Dress code is semi-formal. Can I wear my salsa outfit for ballroom as well?

My salsa outfit:

- shiny chandelier earrings

- pink low cut spaghetti strap, open back dress, skirt to mid thigh

- double layer thick suntan pantyhose (padding for heels & to prevent rips)

- fur lined, knee high boots with 3" heel, smooth suede sole

Do I need a longer skirt for ballroom dancing?

Does the dress need to be more conservative for ballroom dancing?

Update:

@Heyley - Thank you for taking the time to answer! Since I plan on dancing both the salsa and ballroom dances, obviously my spaghetti strap dress with skirt only to mid-thigh is inappropriate. Are there any dresses good for both salsa & ballroom so I don't have to change? ...... For salsa, I dance a lot on my toes, thus I like the 3" heel and the padding my fur lined boots & layered pantyhose give me, at least I can keep my boots for both dances, right?

Typically the dress code for ballroom dancing is geared toward elegance, not flirtatiousness. The cheeky, fun, short, open-back dress is fine for salsa and would work for ballroom/Latin dances such as Cha Cha, Samba, and Jive, but would be horribly out of place for a smooth dance such as a Waltz or Foxtrot. Also, shoes are usually more traditional in their style, a simple T-strap with a 2 1/2 inch heel and a suede sole are fairly common on a ballroom dance floor. If you have a longer skirt or dress, (at least knee length or longer) that flows nicely when you move (pencil skirts don't work. I know, I've tried.) then where that. Just make sure whatever you wear won't limit your movement. Something with a slit up the side would work nicely. If you're going semi-formal and don't have a longer skirt for ballroom, some nice dress pants and a pretty blouse would suffice.

I wouldn't necessarily say that ballroom dancing is more conservative; I've seen some pretty out-there outfits...it just has a completely different attitude than Salsa.
