Hi Carling
The idea will beome common i believe in the not to distant future.
however i wonder if it will also suffer with the problems we currently have with all drives when they become so loaded with data that the seek time will be increased which will also mean a need for extra RAM as the time factor will produce long delays in recovering large chunks of data.
Now we also seem to be getting solid state memory in the form of non mechanical drive chips which are already of some serious sizes.
so the other issue will be to defrag the drives when some data is off loaded to DVD disks and the space becomes available for new data to be loaded.
so the idea of defrag will become as issue i believe.
