Why are Christians convinced they are the 'true religion'?
If you look at it from a Buddhist point of view (the most logical religion IMO) all the three major religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) would be the correct way towards your God because they worship the same person more or less. So Christians stfu

Would anyone want to follow a false religion willingly? Most religions constantly remind their followers that theirs is the only way to God. Christians are just more obnoxious than most.

lol at ur last statement. But obviously, Christians/Catholics think that their religion is the TRUE RELIGION because their bible tells them that. "Just because he said so?" lol well yeah, not logical from someone who is over 8 years old, but that's the way they think. Even if every main story in the bible was proven wrong. If people could turn stone into bread, staffs into snakes, then we'd of course be seeing that today.
The same reason why the "Church of Christ" people worship Felix Manalo. Because Felix Manalo TOLD them that he was the last messenger of God and that he was the one God sent to say who goes to heaven or hell and if they are not members of the Church of Manalo aka Iglesia Ni Cristo, then would go to hell. Worshippers of Manalo believe that ALL other churches EXCEPT for THEIR church are false churches.
Christianity, Catholicism, Manalo-in, they are all Viruses! Once hit it afffects your brain to erase all logical portions of your brain concering belief in "God" the virus. If not cured, the virus spreads down to the offspring, the hosts' kids and the virus makes the host FORCE their kids to be religious and go to Church. So if not cured the virus spreads from the host to the offspring and that's how the religion or the VIRUS is continued generation after generation.
The virus also tries to get the host to infect anyone that doesn't believe. The virus will attempt to activate and run the host's mouth over and over again until the targeted victim's ears are about to bleed in hopes the virus spreads to a new host.
When people are babies, toddlers, etc.. they believe ANYTHING the parent tells them. So if the parent is infected with the virus, then the toddler gets infected too. Since "God" created scapegoats, i.e the devil, satan, free will, eve, etc... it is difficult to get rid of the virus if the virus is hit by birth.
Source(s): If God has so much power, he WOULD show it. By saying he created everything and can do literally everything, is just all talk. TALK IS CHEAP, GOD! Also God, you must be VERY arrogant to NAME yourself "God." After all the God's were created, you create yourself to name yourself GOD as in the God of all Gods. Truth has unfolded over the centuries. (That's one reason we're still here. There are a couple of more things yet to be seen.) Over the years each religion has contributed the aspects of God that were revealed to them. As time went by and more was revealed, the true believers, of course, moved with it.
It is good for each of to follow that which we know to be true. Conversely if you're not totally convince that you're in the "true religion" right now, I hope you are diligently search for where it is that God has revealed more light.
Source(s): This is a history of how the Christian church has developed and changed over the past 2,000 years. It sheds some light on yoiur question, but also makes a great read! http://www.preparingforeternity.com/gc/gccontents.... - foersterLv 45 years ago
Debunk Occam's Razor. Then i might would desire to would desire to entertain the potential of dissimilar and self sufficient superb religious entities. that's confusing to assert if it extremely is the comparable way that agnostics and atheists reject Christianity as a results of fact they often stick to the "no data" refrain.

All *proselytizing* religions like Christianity and Islam are convinced they are the one true religion.
Non-proselytizing religions, like Judaism, Buddhism, and Hinduism, do not. As a Jew, I can tell you Jews do not believe Judaism is the only path to righteousness, but it works for us.
Atarah: Judaism is not a secret, or a mystery. If you want to learn more about Judaism, no one is stopping you, and Jews will be happy to let you know more (and there are countless resources online that do just that). I am a convert to Judaism, so the idea that Jews lock out people who have a genuine interest is ridiculous.
Another Christian nutcase. Blocked.

And you think Muslims don't think theirs is the "true religion?" You're nuts, toddler, if you think Muslims don't think they are the only right ones. Are you saying HIndu's don't think they are correct, or Shinto's? Are you saying that Buddhists think only Jews, Christians, and Moslems are correct in their worship of God? My Buddhist friends disagree with that. You seem to be severely confused on so many levels. Why is anyone of any religion going to believe his or her religion is "true?" It's called a belief system for a reason: all religions require some belief, including yours. In order to practice any religion, one has to take something on faith (hence: belief system!). Yet you single out Christians, as if we do something different from every other religion in terms of having beliefs we believe are correct. You seem to be illogically biased against Christians or you would not be singling us out for discrimination. I'm being polite. What you are really doing is hating...your hatred of Christians is showing. Shame on you for hating those who disagree with you. You mention logic in your choice, but we have seen you used no logic in hating on Christians. Shame shame shame on you. Repent now while you still can.

Christianity is unique among the religions of the world for several reasons.
First, unlike other religions, Christianity is rooted in history and evidence. Jesus of Nazareth was born in Bethlehem in Judea during the reign of Caesar Augustus and was put to death by Pontius Pilate, a first century Roman governor. The testimony of his life, death, and resurrection is validated both by credible eyewitness testimony and by credible extra-biblical evidence as well. No other religion can legitimately claim this kind of support from history and evidence.
Furthermore, of all the influential religious leaders of the world (Buddha, Moses, Zoroaster, Krishna, Lao Tzu, Muhammad, Baha’u’llah), only Jesus claimed to BE GOD in human flesh (Mark 14:62). And this was not an empty boast. For through the historical verifiable fact of resurrection, Christ vindicated his claim to deity (Romans 1:4; 1 Cor. 15:3-8). Other religions, such as Buddhism and Islam, claim miracles in support of their faith; however, unlike Christianity, such miracles lack historical validation.
Then there is the empty tomb. No other religion serves a RISEN Lord. Even though Jesus had powerful political enemies in Jerusalem, none of them ever produced a body. When his disciples became aware of his resurrection, they STARTED spreading this good news by heading right back into the very city where he had been executed by the authorities. If the resurrection were a hoax, it wouldn’t have lasted an hour. History itself has failed to provide any other credible explanation for the empty tomb besides his resurrection.
Finally, Christianity is unique in that it is a coherent belief structure. Some Christian doctrines may transcend comprehension, however, unlike the claims of other religions, they are never irrational or contradictory. Christianity is also unique in that it cogently accounts for the vast array of phenomena we encounter in daily life: the human mind, laws of science and logic, ethical norms, justice, love, meaning in life, the problem of evil and suffering, and truth. In other words, Christianity corresponds with the reality of our present condition.

What could possibly be false about caring for widows and orphans and living above the world's standards? We consider that the true religion because there IS no alternative descriptor for it.
@ polskajason: I don't want just righteousness; I want God. And if YOU know how to get to Him, you had darn well better tell me! THAT'S the problem I have with modern Judaism, and it's the problem God, who loves us and wants a relationship with us, also has with it. You were chosen to tell the world God loves them. Why are you keeping that information to yourself?
And suppose I don't know that information is there. Are you going to let me continue in my ignorance or are you going to go out of your way to reveal to me that God loves me? Research the story of the Karen nation of Burma. You were first in line to bring the truth of God's word to them. Would you have done it?
Another self-serving individual too scared to answer the hard questions. Pwned.

Because we are and because we serve the One True God! Yet you do not understand the Word of God, nor do you participate by faith and therefore you have no truth in you, for you do not know the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I agree with your general idea ~ especially about Buddhism being the most logical of the belief systems ~ but I would advise you do some reading on the subject and next time,
leave off the last sentence.

<> "Because "Buddha" and "Mohammed" didn't die for our sins. JESUS DID!"
Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, was a prophet and did not die for our sins. If you want to know why this is so, please read http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjeKI...
The event of crucifixion did take place as history suggests, but not with Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, but someone who looked like him.
<> "And to be honest all those religions are worshipping "prophets" that they deem important,"
Muslims do not worship prophets. We respect them, but we acknowledge that they were humans. Christianity involves worshipping a human.
<>"when in reality the truest prophet that gave up his life for us is Jesus. Not that the other prophets weren't true, but you know what I mean, he was the prophet who defeated sin.""
Again, please read http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjeKI...
<> "It just is."
So... you don't have any evidence? You're just blindly claiming?
