If the OWS protesters got what they want...?

There is a theory, and I wish I had the link, that says that if you were take ALL of the money in the country and divide it up equally between every single working American, that in a matter of 18-24 months it would all end up right back to where it is right now.

The OWS protesters seem to think that it's just some wild coincidence that some people make six figures while others don't. In a country where you have more freedom to achieve a level of success limitted only by your own personal limitations, I find that very diffiicult to believe if you truly have what it takes. And if you don't, then who's fault is that.....

Um, before you "quote" a site, you really need to be accurate. That 50% rate is for the excess of 150,000 pounds sterling, per year. The first amount is taxed at 20%, the amount over 37,400 is taxed at 40% and anything over 150,000 is taxed at 50%. Also, understand that these are pounds, not dollars. At the current exchange rate, those figures come out to half again (150K pounds = $225K US), and end up being much lower than US taxes.

Yes, I noticed the VAT tax. You'll notice Brits also have free health insurance and an excellent retirement plan that is not in jeopardy. If you are not an excessive consumer, this means little. And, the VAT does NOT apply to food or medicine. My state sales tax is 8.75% -- not a big difference considering I have to pay for my own health insurance (which amounts to 27% of my post-tax income) and SS keeps getting nickel and dimed.

I think these folks should be told we will do what you want but when the money is all gone next week we will be shooting to kill at the riots.. Have a nice day and enjoy that short term health-care and tax breaks... The Problem is these people do not know what we can and can not afford I`am told that they are college students but I have a hard time believing that as they find it difficult to put two sentences together... I think their cause is real in their minds but lack the knowledge to consider the down side of more entitlements... And the worst thing is going to be that their cause will be hijacked by unions and other questionable groups and it will be more of the same and they will be shafted one more time..

It is right wing propaganda to think that OWS stands for taking the money away from wealthy people .

We want Big Money Out of our Government's and We want Big corporations to stop using their influence to take and or our buy tax payer money and bend the laws in their favor
