They've won the old First Division twice in 1936–37 and 1967–68 but they've never won the Premier League, their highest ever Premier League finish was 3rd during the 2010/11 season although this is likely to be surpassed this year.

As far as I know the top tier of English football since the creation of the FA has always been the "First Division" until the rebranding of English football in '92 with the creation of the EPL.
