Lab puppy crying in crate?

I have a 8 week old black lab puppy, which i got 3 days ago. I am aware of separation anxiety, but how long should i expect the crying last for? she sleeps in my room and i am wondering if i should be in there with her? i need my sleep and she whines and cries all night long, which is keeping me up. I have put everything in her crate to make her comfortable, such as my t-shirt, chew toys, a treat, a blanket, ive even left the light on, and the radio for white noise. I know puppies get lonely but whether im in there or not she whines and yelps. Any suggestions to what i should do, and if i should sleep in there?

Update:

I have given her toys, and she doesnt sleep, she just howls and carries on all night. Im trying to keep her awake past 6pm so she gets tired but its not turning out well.

I feel what you are going through, I have been through the same thing. Sometime the best thing is tough love. Just put her in a separate room and let her whine and fuss. After a couple of nights she will get use to it. Put some ear plugs in your ears and just go to sleep. Even though this may be hard it's the best thing to do really.

Puppies are known for whining the first few nights in the crate. I have never had much luck with the old clock or radio tricks. What I do is lay down by the crate like I was going to sleep there. Usually a puppy may fuss a little, but then settle down and go to sleep. Once it is asleep, you can get up and go to bed.

I have covered the cage with blankets before and it helped. I move the cage to a far away room and cover the cage so they dont' know where they are. I walk them before we turn in for the night and it tuckers them out if needed. I dont' feed after 6pm since my dogs go out at 7 or 8pm to pee and poop. No water or food after 6pm but feed first thing in the morning after going out. I have given chew sticks to the dogs to help. good luck pups are whiners. try a couple of short term cratings in the daytime too.

She is just lonely. It won't last for more than a few days. As hard as it may seem, you have to ignore their cries for a few nights and they will eventually stop.

    Hope I helped!
