What pointe shoes would be good for me?
I've been on pointe for 2 years now and have had little luck with finding the right pointe shoe. To say a little bit about my feet I have weak ankles, stiff ankles and feet, and a mediocre arch. Pointe work has strecthed it out a little. I will list the shoes i've had and what was wron with them and what i liked about them.
-Chacott Veronese 2: couldn't get up on them although they were my first shoes
-Capezio ? : I loved hese shoes i just don't know what type they were!
-Gaynor Minden: The basic ones they were pretty good
-Bloch Aspiration- HORRIBLE! I'm sure you already know
-Grishko 2007: 2 pairs, couldn't get up on them
-Mirella Academie: liked them for the most part but both feet broke in different places so they looked odd. they were also the wrong size so they were awkward
-Grishko Maya? worked at first but they got too narrow and couldnt get up on them
-Bloch Balance European: most recent pair, on my third pair, worked for a while since my feet aren't very strong so i could get up on them but now the shoes are too soft for me
I'd like to either stay with bloch since i have a wide metatarsal and narrow heel or switch to russian pointe but if you have any other suggestions please tell me! Thanks a ton. I'm also on pointe a lot right now with nutcracker rehersals I have snow and flowers two times a week for 2 hours each so my shoes wear out a lot faster along with 2 two hour pointe classes a week. Thanks again!

This wont get me best answer, but this is my honest opinion and you are going to totally hate this answer. If you have weak ankles and stiff feet then you are not really ready for pointe work. The fact that you had trouble getting up on shoes that you had and the fact of they way your Mirella's broke confirms this. Shoes don't get too narrow after you wear them. You just are too weak to lift out of them.
My suggestion is to get out the theraband and get to work on your arches and ankles. Start writing the alphabet with your feet for ankle strength. Work on releves and eleves at the barre on flat. When doing tendu at the barre push through the floor and articulate your feet.

I have been on pointe for over 5 years now and have tried everything and my favorites have been bloch balance, but now that I have become more advanced I have switched to Russian double shank and they last a long time and are great quality that will last you longer then most other shoes!
