Good lenses for stage photos with Canon T3i?
I currently have a Canon Rebel T3i camera with an EFS 18-55 mm lens. It does not zoom very far. It's great for taking portraits of people. I would like to take good photos of stage performances for my school such as theatre and dance. Would you please recommend some lenses for me to do this? I usually am able to get pretty close to the stage but I would like to be able to stand at the back of the theatre not to disturb anyone.
6 AnswersCameras6 years agoMusical Theatre College Programs with highest success rates?
I will be applying to several universities next fall and am looking to pursue a career in Musical Theatre with a focus in dance and choreography but would like to be well rounded as I have training in music and theatre as well. I currently live in CA but would like to move to the Northeast New York area. I am looking to get my BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in dance if at all possible. Right now I am looking into Pace University (NYC), NYU (NYC), Boston Conservatory, Penn State, and University of the Arts. Would you please give me some insight into these schools or any other intriguing programs in the area or anywhere else? Thanks!

5 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education6 years agoIs it common to have a period for a long duration of time after starting Aubra (birth control pill.)?
I started taking Aubra from Planned Parenthood right before my period started. A week later, I started my period and it continued quite heavily for 3 weeks. I have also been having very much protected sex using condoms religiously. I've had a lot of symptoms that go along with pregnancy since then and I am in no position to have a child at this time. My breasts grew and became tender during this first month along with puffy nipples. I'm pretty thin but in the past few weeks my uterus has become hard and my belly looks very bloated but it doesn't feel like menstrual bloating. The left side of my body, especially my leg has become somewhat numb and sore which mkes me worry about an ectopic pregnancy or uterine fibroids. Would someone please give me some insight into what may be happening to my body?
3 AnswersWomen's Health6 years agoSinging "Life of the Party" at 14 years old?
This Saturday, I am auditioning at the performing arts high school that I will be a freshman at next year. It is not an audition to get into the school (I am already in) they are just placing us in classes and groups for next year. For my vocal audition, I am singing "The Life of the Party" from the musical, The Wild Party by Andrew Lippa. I understand that the whole musical is very sexual and promiscuous, and that the character who sings the song is as well, but I understand the lyrics and really enjoy how my voice sounds singing it. I just want to know, is it inappropriate for me to be singing it at the age of 14 as an incoming freshman? The school's theatre program is amazing and that is what I am planning on doing later in life. Some of their past musicals have been Aladdin, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and this year they are doing Zombie Prom, just to give reference. Some of their plays have included Anne Frank, Hamlet, The Learned Ladies, and Shakespeare's Women. So.. If I'm being unclear, basically I'm worried that the teachers who are judging will think the song is too mature for me. If they didn't know my age, I could convincingly be about 17, so I think I will be able to pull it off. I'm pretty set on singing this song though. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks :)
2 AnswersTheater & Acting8 years agoWhat is the best way to memorize lines?
In the musical that I am currently in, I have about 120-some lines. I am not great at memorizing, but I always manage to just get by. The dialogue is easy, and the character itself is very simple. There is very little acting involved. I was just wondering what the best methods of memorization are, and what will help me to memorize things so they stick with me, and so I can start to memorize more dialogue quicker. I would like to pursue musical theatre as a career and memorization of dialogue is probably my weakest spot. Help please?
2 AnswersTheater & Acting8 years agoHeavy in Your Arms by Florence and the Machine dance suggestions?
I'm choreographing a contemporary dance to Heavy in Your Arms by Florence and the Machine. There are going to be 4-5 girls in the piece including myself. My style is much like what Sonya Tayeh and Ricky Palomino choreograph. A very few number of girls in the dance group can do complicated dance steps such as difficult turns and leaps.
In short, does anyone have any suggestions for this dance?
Thanks (:
1 AnswerDancing9 years agoSinging Part of Your World for auditions- Tips?
This year I have a few auditions. One for my school's showchoir and musical (which will be my third and final year in them) and one for a performing arts high school. For right now I've decided to sing Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid. I have a soprano voice and have a wide range, but I am more comfortable in the higher register. If you have any tips on singing this song or have any suggestions for other sons that may be good for me please leave an answer below!
Thanks! (:
4 AnswersTheater & Acting9 years agoMusic lessons- piano, guitar, or bass guitar?
I have some money and would like to take some music lessons. I have a piano, guitar and bass guitar but don't know which one to choose to take lessons with. I currently play in the percussion ensemble at school and it comes easily to me. I took piano for two years about 2 years ago and stopped because I got bored. I would like to play the rhythm/lead guitar style (not sure what to call it) and eventually learn ukulele. Basically the style that the band Never Shout Never plays. I have also heard that if you learn to play guitar, bass is much easier to learn.
In short, which instrument should I take lessons in?
Thanks! (:

In the future when I go to a Never Shout Never concert, how would I be able to obtain a VIP pass or go to a meet and greet? I would love to meet Chris and the band. I don't care what the price is I just want to meet them! Thanks(: Websites and references would be very helpful!
1 AnswerRock and Pop9 years agoWhat hip hop song is this?
It starts out kind of weird then there's a siren and the rapper says something like, "Don't drop the ball just drop your jaw" or something like that? It has a really low bass beat. I'm probably way off but my hip hop teacher plays it all the time and I love the song! If you could tell me the song name and the artist that'd be great(: Thanks!

5 AnswersTeaching9 years agoWould someone please describe their experience with different type of Bloch pointe shoes?
I'm trying to decide on some new pointe shoes and I would like to stay with Bloch. I have the Bloch Balance Europeans right now. I'm on my third pair of them right now and they feel like socks and are just too soft and break too low for my feet. I was thinking about buying the following shoes...
Bloch B Morph
Bloch Synergy
Bloch Signature Rehearsal
Bloch Serenade
Bloch Sonata
Bloch Axis
Mirella Advanced
Please give me your opinions and past experiences with these shoes and which ones would be best for me. I have a wide metatarsal and narrow heel, so-so arches, stiff ankles, and my toes do down at a slant from my big toe. I would also like a shoe that breaks at the 3/4 mark. I'm doing two 2 hour pointe classes a week plus seven and a half hours of Nutcracker rehearsals. I go through pointe shoes about every 1 to 1 and a half months. Thanks! Answers asap would be greatly appreciated:)
1 AnswerDancing10 years agoWhat pointe shoes would be good for me?
I've been on pointe for 2 years now and have had little luck with finding the right pointe shoe. To say a little bit about my feet I have weak ankles, stiff ankles and feet, and a mediocre arch. Pointe work has strecthed it out a little. I will list the shoes i've had and what was wron with them and what i liked about them.
-Chacott Veronese 2: couldn't get up on them although they were my first shoes
-Capezio ? : I loved hese shoes i just don't know what type they were!
-Gaynor Minden: The basic ones they were pretty good
-Bloch Aspiration- HORRIBLE! I'm sure you already know
-Grishko 2007: 2 pairs, couldn't get up on them
-Mirella Academie: liked them for the most part but both feet broke in different places so they looked odd. they were also the wrong size so they were awkward
-Grishko Maya? worked at first but they got too narrow and couldnt get up on them
-Bloch Balance European: most recent pair, on my third pair, worked for a while since my feet aren't very strong so i could get up on them but now the shoes are too soft for me
I'd like to either stay with bloch since i have a wide metatarsal and narrow heel or switch to russian pointe but if you have any other suggestions please tell me! Thanks a ton. I'm also on pointe a lot right now with nutcracker rehersals I have snow and flowers two times a week for 2 hours each so my shoes wear out a lot faster along with 2 two hour pointe classes a week. Thanks again!
2 AnswersDancing10 years agoHow do Bloch Balance Europeans and Bloch B Morphs compare?
I have the bloch balance europeans right now and i really need to get a new type of pointe shoe because the europeans are getting way to soft and easy for to get up onto and breaking too low which isnt giving me a challenge or any strength. I would like to stay with bloch so tell me what are the differences? Pros and cons of both shoes? To tell a little bit about my feet they are very stiff and not archy but not flat. I have stiff, weak ankles. The problem with the balance europeans was that they broke too low for me. If you know of a shoe that may work for me please give me your feedback! Thanks!
