How long would it take for mail from California to reach Texas?

A loved one of mine will be in Texas for the majority of the summer, and their only form of communication is through letters. I live in California and I was just wondering about how long it would take for letters to be received between us? You can just give me a general idea. Thanks!

    many times approximately 3-4 days. (by using strained economic device and opposition, the USPS is thinking going to a shorter week. while and if that occurs i assume it is going to slow the mail down notably.)

    Big city to big city one day

    big city to small town two days

    small town to small town three days

    also depends if you make the pickups or not.
