Where in Geneva do you find free public toilets?
I am basically from India, and have come to Switzerland for a short time. I was in Geneva a few days ago, and was there for 3 hours or so. As it is known that relieving oneself on the streets in Europe, USA or Japan attracts heavy fines (unlike in India), it was difficult to find a public toilet anywhere. Finally, I found one (near the railway station), but to my utter dismay, they charged 1.50 CHF, which is too much, just for relieving oneself (legally). Being an Indian, I may not be in a position to spend so much money for this everytime, with limited resources.
Could anybody tell me where can one relieve oneself for either free or for less than 0.5 CHF.

At Centre Commercial "LES CYGNES" (16 - 20 rue de Lausanne) just across from Cornavin train station there is a free public toilet. You could also use the toilets in the Manor department store which is also near the train station.

Geneva is the 5th most expensive city of the world and the 2nd most expensive city in Europe (after Moscow) ... The Swiss Franc is much stronger than it used to be a few years ago. I live in Paris and go to Geneva quite often, the last time it was 2 months ago and the high prices gave me a real headache.
The only 2 public toilets I remember are not for free, probably the price you speak about, one is at the train station, the other one is at Parc Bertrand. You'll find free public toilets at the shopping centres like Globus or Bon Genie, otherwise, you can always ask at a coffee shop and give them a coin but always more than 0,50 CHF.
I don't know the salaries in India but Geneva ones are twice higher than Parisian ones.
