No the reason why he has became "stale" is his current gimmick he has had for quite some time, and he is basically the "superman" of the raw show.

The WWE creative writers are scared to play with these two faces or vince will not let them due to the amount of cash they are racking in, however it hurts the fans who want to see something new done with them.

There are a few reasons why he became stale, among which are: lack of character change, limited/repetitive in-ring performance, constantly either holding the title or going after it, and the fact that we know how entertaining he used to be (Thugonomics, Chain Gang), compared to today. He's become a watered down, fan pandering, goody guy.

I respect Cena for what he stands for and how hard he works. However, his gimmick is in desperate need of a makeover.
