I added too much brown sugar to my cookies. How can I adjust from here?
I tripled the recipe, and got a little mixed up. I added 2 cups of brown sugar to my cookie dough instead of 1, and I know that with that much sugar in them, the cookies will burn black before they cook thoroughly. But, if I adjust the recipe to fit the extra cup of brown sugar, having already tripled it, I will end up with six times more dough than the original recipe! Is there any way I can salvage my cookies without ending up with cookies stacked to the ceiling?

Like the other user, sorry, I don't think there's a way you can salvage them. But just because you're making a huge batch of cookie dough, doesn't mean you have to bake them all at once! It's a common practice in the industry to make cookie dough ahead of time, portion/scoop them out, and freeze them until solid. You can then put them into a plastic bag and bake cookies whenever you feel like it. I usually prepare a baking sheet of cookie dough and keep it out while the oven is preheating. You may need to adjust your time by adding a few additional minutes.

I don't believe so. But the good news is, cookie dough freezes and so do the cookies. I really wish I had a better solution for you.

Throw the stuff out and start over.
