  • After playing Guild Wars The next day I can't turn my computer on, it freezes. I have to wait a few days.?

Then it decides to start up on it's own saying it was not shut down properly....because I had to turn it off the power when it froze trying to start it up the next day or I have to spam F8 and start from there.

If I try to even think about starting the computer the next day it makes the actual turn on time longer so now I wait three days after playing guild wars.

EXCEPT I haven't played guild wars in a while. A long while. I was on the computer yesterday. An Asus, and turned it on. It was 'do not shut off your computer downloading updates' and the thinking wheel stopped turning. I waited, and waited and finally turned off power. Tried to turn it back on an low ad behold it went black, as it did when I played guild wars.

Already downloaded drivers. sound and display a while ago. that did nothing.

    Have Norton running.

    don't have two antivirus going

Did a disk check for corrupt hard drive. Nothing.

I'M READY TO TAKE A HAMMER TO IT!

the only 'help' I have in my area is best buy and they charge you an arm a leg and two front teeth to get it started and then of course it does the exact same thing as soon as you get it home.

Not that I need to play guild wars but I'd like to every now and again

But I really would like to have access to my computer everyday. Trying to borrow my son's is a bother.

  • Jam on a Monte Cristo?

I just visited a 'cafe' in Wrightwood CA where I ordered a Monte Cristo Sandwich. Now I'm a pastry chef and I have never heard of a monte cristo made without some type of fruit preserves/jam/jelly ON the sandwich before it's fried. I have always made it with seedless blackberry preserves or currant Jelly. The waitress, kind as she was, popped down a jar of crusted goo that may or may not have been strawberry jelly and said some people like it with this.

Swiss or Gruyere cheese is also on the sandwich or so I thought, but none showed up on mine.

I know most folks dip the bread in egg before frying but I dunk mine in pancake batter and deep fry.

Researching this question I have looked up many recipe from America as well as the french original croque-monsieur which is really nothing more than a grilled ham and cheese.

I have seen recipe's with and without the jam, seems like it just ain't right without it. As my son said, a monte cristo should make you feel like your having desert for lunch, not just a fried sandwich. So which is it? With or without jam

  • How many breakers in a 100amp sub panel?

I am adding a 100 amp sub-panel. I need up to three 30amp breakers and of right this moment I need eight 20amp breakers (I STRONGLY believe 15amp breakers are a waste of time and money and should never be allowed in residential use) In future I will need four breakers for backyard, two for front yard and three for holiday specific uses. The panel is being fed by a 50amp breaker from the main 200amp. The subpanel will have either 20 slots, 20 circuits or 30 slots 30 circuits.

My question is on the amount of volts in the breaker. Up to sixteen 20 amp breakers and three 30 amp breakers plus the feed, is this too much for a sub-panel?

and yes I know the neutral and ground have to be isolated.

    Thanks

  • Wire to use when running a subpanel?

100 amp sub-panel run from a 200amp main thru a 50amp breaker. Is 6-3 the best to use or is another wire I should be looking to use?

Also I have to run this wire through the garage from the outside main to the inside sub-panel. Can I run the hot wire through ridged channel, or emt across the ceiling and down the wall or do I have to tear out the finished garage ceiling and run it through the joists thru flexible conduit?

  • How many lines can be on one 30amp 240breaker?

planing the rewiring on my home. I have to install a subpanel. But my big issue is that I have two showers that need 240, the electric dryer needs 240 volts. Do I have to wire each of those 240 lines on a seperate 30amp breaker or can they all be wired to the same breaker. Seems silly to have three different 30amp breakers since I doubt all three things will be running at the same time, but I guess you never know. Thanks
