After playing Guild Wars The next day I can't turn my computer on, it freezes. I have to wait a few days.?

Then it decides to start up on it's own saying it was not shut down properly....because I had to turn it off the power when it froze trying to start it up the next day or I have to spam F8 and start from there.

If I try to even think about starting the computer the next day it makes the actual turn on time longer so now I wait three days after playing guild wars.

EXCEPT I haven't played guild wars in a while. A long while. I was on the computer yesterday. An Asus, and turned it on. It was 'do not shut off your computer downloading updates' and the thinking wheel stopped turning. I waited, and waited and finally turned off power. Tried to turn it back on an low ad behold it went black, as it did when I played guild wars.

Already downloaded drivers. sound and display a while ago. that did nothing.

Have Norton running.

don't have two antivirus going

Did a disk check for corrupt hard drive. Nothing.

I'M READY TO TAKE A HAMMER TO IT!

the only 'help' I have in my area is best buy and they charge you an arm a leg and two front teeth to get it started and then of course it does the exact same thing as soon as you get it home.

Not that I need to play guild wars but I'd like to every now and again

But I really would like to have access to my computer everyday. Trying to borrow my son's is a bother.

My first advice would be: Get rid of Norton anti-virus. It hogs your computer memory like crazy.
