Most bakeries are open on Tuesdays though some small bakeries that rely on tourism for business may close on Monday and/or Tuesday to make a 'week end' for the owners who run the operation since these two days are lower in business than the weekend itself or other days of the week like Friday.
Mostly though, bakeries are open all week including Sunday.

Not Tuesday's around here. The local bakeries - stand alone, not donuts or bagels - are closed on Sundays.

Never heard such a thing. But that might be a regional thing. It happens in one place but not necessarily another.
