Should I buy this 1999 Dodge Durango?
Here is the SUV: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/2648506885.htm...
I need a 7 passenger but all the vans seem pricey. This one looks good, has low miles and is well priced. But I have no idea about Durangos.
I live in the San Francisco bay area. I looked at some used odysseys and siennas but they want ridiculous amount of money for them inspite of having very high miles.

You could do better. Get a well maintained Caravan, or a Sienna or Odyssey.

a massive amount of money for a 12 year old car with 100,000 + miles
We owned a 1999 from new - it was fine but extremely expensive on gas - best we EVER got was 17 - most of the time 12-13 mpg - great in snow though

the explorer will beat the durango on gas mileage by some miles consistent with gallon and the two are stable automobiles to possess, yet while your finding for gas economic gadget id bypass with the explorer ,you,ll even have much less problems from the explorer in the long-term,stable success.

Durangos, as well as most Dodges are notorious for electrical problems. My aunt had one that wouldn't start because of a stupid sensor, and their fuel fillers are terrible as well.

I would avoid Chrysler products all together. As mentioned before they do have a lot of electrical issues as well as transmission issues.
