Why try to prove that the christian god exists?

There are lots of people obsessed with trying to prove that the christian god exists. Supposed scholars like 'Dr'.Grady McMurtry, Chuck Missler etc and many others. They actually go into the minutiae of the whole thing, trying to prove Noah's Ark amongst many other things.

Why try to prove anything? The whole ethos of chritianity is belief, ie faith. Not proof.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

It doesn't say 'whosoever proves I exist will have everlasting life'.

Personally I'm not a believer, but there seems to be a lot of people missing the point.

Very few do.
A god that could be proved by a finite mind would, plainly, not be God.

Get your facts straight first. I'm not a believer in god of any kind either , but it isn't just Christian god is it that people believe in? Its ALL religions, so don't dig at the christians, dig at everybody! Being a little narrow minded aren't you.

the christian god is the same god as the islam god, just when the gang wrote the quran, they did pills instead of weed.

There is no proof of any god.  Believers who think they have proof have a weak faith they bolster with their own mistaken idea of proof.

He already has proven He exists.  People choose to suppress the truth of God because of their unrighteousness before God.
