  • If intelligent life was found on another planet?

And these aliens did not look like us, in any way shape or form, how would religious people actually be able to twist things to suit themselves?

Firstly we are supposed to be created in god's image, so if they were different, christians couldn't say that their god created them. What would happen? I'm sure there are loads of other examples to think of too. How would they be able to twist things, and still come out saying their god created everything?

  • David Strettle talking himself out of selection?

Disregarding if the last minute try should have been given (every angle I've seen it from suggests his arm was beneath the ball), David Strettle has come out to the press and criticised the match officials publicly. As an ex-player I was always always always told to respect the ref's decision, you take it on the chin, and that is what differentiates our great game from the debacle called football. In football, refs are taken through the mill every week, and sometimes even abused on the pitch - in rugby it has always been different. After the world cup antics, I'd have thought the English camp would just want to play rugby and not rock any boats again for a while. Appears this isn't the case.

    Any thoughts?

  • Are you one of the 44%?

Are you one of the 44% of Americans who answered in a poll for Gallup, that believes the Earth was created by a god in 7 days, less than 10,000 years ago?

The thought of this gives me a really good belly-laugh. As a matter of fact I start grunting and snorting because I'm laughing so much. Are all Americans home-schooled, so that they can only be exposed to creationist fairy stories and not given a proper education?

A ham-shank friend of mine recently said 'the pakistanis are too backward to have their fingers on the nuclear trigger'......ohhhhhh the fakkin irony hahahahahaa!! Well guess what Bubba!!

What are your thoughts on this staggering statistic - a country with the biggest arsenal of nukes on the planet, and 44% say all this was made in 7 days less than 10,000 years ago? Please give your belly-laughs on a scale of 1-10

  • Stroke advice about my father?

My father had a left-brain stroke on October 1st, it's left him paralysed on his right and unable to speak. He can drink, eat and swallow buthe can only say yes or no, and sometimes he mixes these up too. It's heartbreaking to see him trying to speak but just unable to get the words out. I can't imagine what he's going through.

Has anyone got anything positive for us to think about regarding this? Will he be unable to speak, full stop? Will he eventually get some form of words together? It will be so so cruel for him not to be able to speak, ever. Can't think about that, too unfair.

My mother and I are devastated by this, my father is 63, never smoked, ate properly, wasn't overweight at all. It's been 5 1/2 weeks and even though in appearance, he looks good, we're terrified about the speech not returning.

Can anyone give us a glimmer of hope????

  • Why try to prove that the christian god exists?

There are lots of people obsessed with trying to prove that the christian god exists. Supposed scholars like 'Dr'.Grady McMurtry, Chuck Missler etc and many others. They actually go into the minutiae of the whole thing, trying to prove Noah's Ark amongst many other things.

Why try to prove anything? The whole ethos of chritianity is belief, ie faith. Not proof.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

It doesn't say 'whosoever proves I exist will have everlasting life'.

Personally I'm not a believer, but there seems to be a lot of people missing the point.
