How much is he worth now?

I asked this question a few months ago and it was a matter of you'd be lucky to get £1000. So curious after all my work what do you think he'd be worth now? btw he will NEVER be for sale, just curious :)

He is a Black 15hh 9 year old gypsy vanner.

Schooling well: works in a nice outline, good transitions, currently working on leg yielding & flying changes - he is getting the hag of flying changes very well.

Jumps a 70cm course quite easily, and has done individual jumps of up to 3ft height x 3ft wide.

Hacks reasonably well in a group, can get a bit excited. Not spooked by anything when hacking on the roads, but occasionally see invisible monsters when off road. He recently did his first hack alone and was perfectly behaved, seems to hack better alone.

Took him to his first show over the summer and was 100%, was quite a big show with lots going on. He came 6th, judges comments were that he should have been 1st or 2nd but the individual show wasn't polished enough (totally my fault forgot the routine so had to make it up).

Goes on/off box no problem, great to clip (fidgets a bit with his ears but fine if you twitch whilst doing them). Great with the vet, doesn't even notice injections... Usually ok with the farrier, he is still getting used to have shoes put on so can be a bit silly. Not sure what he is like with dentist without sedative, he's sedated for it just because he is so big & strong all he'd have to do is move and he could knock someone out if hit them.

Has a extremely small splint that doesn't both him at all.

Erm think that's all the info... :)

Update:

I would add photo's but yahoo keeps removing the question if I post links to photobucket photos :/ anyone know how to stop that?

Update 2:

please please please work:

photo's on this question (exactly the same question, just with photos at the end)

Well I would say his value would go up a lot now, around $10,000 since he is such a great horse, however, since he is older I would say around $3,500-6,000 for him. I'm glad to hear you spent some time with him and you are not really selling him. (:

This is a very, very tough economy around the world and it doesn't matter what you think your horse is worth, it depends on what a buyer thinks he is worth.

He is a good age and sounds like he has good training. He seems to have a slight issue on the trail with other horses. He doesn't have a solid show record yet. You have to twitch him to do his ears. Does not stand solidly for the farrier. It sounds like he might have an issue with boundaries as he is moving around and has to have a sedative - however, most vets use a sedative for teeth. Finally, he has a small splint which doesn't bother him now, but could very well in the future.

There are alot of horses out there that don't have these issues. You have a Gypsy Vanner which is getting to be a popular breed. He is black, which many people like, but most people like the flashy look of the black/white. He is a gelding, which is also good.

If you want to sell your horse, work on the following:

    1. Making comfortable hacking with and without horses.

    2. Get him comfortable having his ears handled.

    3. Get him out there and show him more so people see him and can see that he can win.

    4. Teach him to stand quietly for the farrier and the vet.

There is a web site called Dream Horse (link below) where you can put in all the criteria for the horse you are looking for. Put in your horse's info and see what prices are being offered. That will give you an idea of what your horse may be worth. But, again, it will depend who is looking for a black Gypsy Vanner with some personality issues and no show record.
