APC for a samsung 32 inc LCD?

I have a basic surge protector for my Samsung TV but i noticed a power problem with it lately, the HD picture is not as clear some times and when some one uses my fridge water/ice Machine as well as if i have a lot of lights on you can tell there is interference.

I have been reading up on "dirty power " and I know my house wiring is to blame some were ( old house and weird configuration) so was wondering from some one who is experienced with this or similar problems would an APC help the situation ( not to mention give me a backup for when i "rarely" loose power) or am i barking up the wrong tree.

if i am on the right track let me know what kind of APC i can buy that's kinda inexpensive and the battery wont die every six months.

You are so on the right path. APC is one of the better outfits. I would purchase a unit that would be the best I can afford, the system will be protecting your investment. Increasingly power surges and outages are more frequent. The measurement to be aware of is joules. Joules are a unit of measurement that resists abrupt electrical interruptions. The lower the joules, the less protection and vice versa. Surge protectors do have a service life, out of sight out of mind is the challenge, thats why its best to get a good one. You mention dirty power could be an issue. Look at it as sonic feedback. You have heard electricity run, it has a hum. Audio noise can make a perceptible noise, visual can get grainy. It is a phenomena not often discussed.

What you really want is a power conditioner. Monster makes a very well regarded unit for less than $75.00. Link below:
