Why are these pretzels making me thirsty?
Every time I eat these pretzels, they make me thirsty. I just don't get it. Why does this always happen?

They are what is known as a dessicant. This means they draw moisture in. If you leave a pretzel on a counter or table for a few days, it will absorb moisture and be soggy.
They are oven dried and then sealed, so they are not at stasis moisture wise. The second you open a bag, they start to abosorb moisture.
Salt actually helps keep your mouth moist because it causes salivation.
To test this put a pretzel without any salt in your mouth.
Also, what happens to your mouth if you just throw a pinch of salt in it?
Salt can make you feel thirsty though.........
