Computer Laptop blacked out after uploading a video card driver?

Our Dell laptop screen is broken, so we are using an external monitor for the laptop. We needed to update the video drivers, so we uninstalled the video driver and had windows "vista" use the generic VGA Driver. When the laptop rebooted, it was unable to send the signal to the external monitor. Since the laptop screen is broken, how do I "see" what I am doing in order to install the correct driver?

Is there any way that I can use my main computer to connect to the laptop in order to install the correct driver?

I know how to do remote access, but from what I have been trying, there is no way for me to see what I am doing. Any recommendations/suggestions/tips?

Boot up again, and hit F8 a couple of times to get to the safe mode screen. Regardless of how badly your video drivers are messed up, you should be able to see the safe mode screen. Run the repair application to see if repairing the windows O.S. will resolve the driver conflict.

If that doesn't solve the problem, try the boot in safe mode with internet connection. There you can either do a restore to a date before the driver install failed or download and install the driver from Dell ,Nvidia, or ATI depending on your graphics mfg. If the 1st repair option works, and you are pleased with the way the display looks, then don't do anything else and enjoy.

The easiest way to unintentionally mess up your system, even preventing the boot entirely, is upgrading a video driver for no reason other than curiosity. A driver update is meant to allow more models of video cards to interact with the operating system, not to improve the ones that already do work.

i've got seen TMPGEnc Xpress used for video modifying. that's especially sturdy, with undemanding to apply constructive factors as quickly as you get used to it. that's particularly choosy on what video's it opens in spite of the undeniable fact that. Blaze Media professional is yet another that has numerous constructive factors.
