What to do about fever in 15 month old?
My daughter had a fever last night of 102. I gave her Tylenol and it came down to 100.6 two hours later. Her fever broke during the night but all day today she has not wanted to hardly eat anything and has not played any. All she has wanted to do is sleep and she is very cranky. This evening she got a fever again of 101.6. Gave her more Tylenol and it came down to 99.1. Any ideas on what this can be? Any advice is appreciated!
Her pediatrician told me to give her Tylenol if it is 100 or above. That is why I gave it to her.

Fevers are the body's natural way to fight off infection. Fevers will spike in the afternoon/evenings, that's totally normal.
I *hate* fevers, they worry me. But your daughter doesn't sound out of the bounds of normal sick to me.
It sounds like you're doing what you can! Check on her throughout the night, and keep up her medicine. As long as my kids fevers aren't horribly high, during the day, I try to hold off on the motrin/tylenol, so they feel sick and sleep. If I give fever reducer during the day, my son feels all better, runs around and the fever comes back. Sleeping is exactly what your daughter should have been doing today :) She doesn't need to be eating, but you should be pushing fluids. Fevers are dehydrating, so make sure she's drinking, or eating popsicles, or having jello.
She's probably got a virus that needs to run its course. If she's not better in a day or two, I would take her to the doctor. But as long as she's responding to the medicine and not getting any worse, she should be fine.

Fever is a GOOD thing. it's your body fighting off an infection. The more we treat fevers the less our body can fight and the longer the virus lasts. So unless it gets above 103.8 don't treat it. if she's really miserable a luke warm bath can lower the temp by up to a full degree. Tylenol can be damaging to the liver so to give it for something that's actually good is not the best idea. I know "everyone does it" but that doesn't necessarily make it the right thing. Just ride it out unless it hits 105 or spikes REALLY quickly then go to the doctor.

Like the others said, she's probably fighting an infection, or just teething.
My son's fever got up to 105 F on Thursday. His paediatrician told me that there's nothing to worry about if it comes down with Tylenol or Advil. (FYI - I recommend a dose of advil before bedtime because it's effective for a longer period).
If however, it lasts more than 3 days, you need to consult. Turns out my son had a bad ear infection and a bronchopneumonia.
