What happens if I drop below the minimum weight requirement for the Army?

I have enlisted in the Army, and my minimum weight is 140, I was above it when I went to MEPS, but what happens if I'm below it on my ship date? Do they just push it back or do I get discharged or what?

Update:

I was at 160 something at MEPS, but that was because I had been sitting around doing nothing since last football season, now that I'm working out again, I'm back to my normal fighting weight of around 130, and I don't know if I'll be able to get back up to 140 before I ship.

If you drop to 135, it won't matter. If you drop to something crazy like 110, your enlistment will be postponed until you are at a healthy weight. Most recruits lose weight in basic, which is why there is a minimum in the first place.

Man, get some muscle on your bone and the Army should value that. I'm above my Max. Allowable Weight (go ahead call me fat, but I have plenty o' muscle), but that is what most folks have a problem with. Hopefully, I'll lose enough to join up early next year. The weight minimums and maximums are established to present a 'Professional Military Image' in uniform, so the minimum weights are saying you're too skimpy. Go to McD's or something.

I don't think anyone has ever had to deal with this issue after getting in the Army.

I would tell you to cheat (because it would be easy for under weight) before weigh in eat something or drink a bunch of water. Put weights under your socks or a tow chain around your neck like Barny Fife did when he was under weight for the sheriffs department.
