Based on my experience of German grammar (which is similar to English), I'd say no.

An indirect object is, however, in this sentence:

"Heany's version makes the statement more complex with indirect objects."

Notice "the indirect objects" can be omitted, and the sentence will still make sense.

No, there isn't an indirect object. There is a direct object, "the statement," and an object complement, "more complex." An indirect object is a person or thing for whom or for which the action was done, but never the object of a preposition. Example: She gave him a gift. Direct object: gift. Indirect object: him.

She gave a gift to him: Direct object: gift. Prepositional phrase: to him.

"With indirect objects" is also a prepositional phrase, not an indirect object. The noun in a prepositional phrase is the object of the preposition, never an indirect object.
