Crossing the Canadian border with a passport in my maiden name?

My husband and I got married 4 months ago and he recently won a trip to Toronto with his job. We just got the tickets for the hotel and game last Friday and the trip is for this coming Saturday. I have a current passport, but it is in my maiden name. I am applying for an Enhanced Drivers License this week, but it won't be in my possession in time to drive across the border. I have our marriage certificate, birth certificate, social security card and current drivers license. Will I get any grief trying to cross the border?

    You're fine.

The only time there is a problem is when you have travel tickets issued in one name (like your married name) and your identification (your passport) in another.

Many women keep their maiden name when they get married, plus it's not like the border people know you have a different name now.

Since you're driving, there's no issue with different names on tickets, so if the passport's valid and you look something like the picture, no problem at all.

Many women keep their maiden name. No reason you cannot use that passport unless you are flying...then you just have to be sure the ticket has your maiden name too. You really have no need for an enhanced license since you already have a passport.

Here in Quebec most women keep their maiden names. No one has ever questioned my name or even asked if I was married to the guy I was travelling with. Getting married does not invalidate your passport, you will be fine.

No passport necessary yet as much as date pictures and paper information of them. additionally enables to have all place of work work from the vets. generally the U. S.-CAN border is notably lax approximately canine crossing, tremendously whilst they're doggies. Mine's 11 months previous and he or she is not at all had her papers appeared at, in basic terms her rabies tag on her collar. sturdy luck!

No problem. Just carry your marriage certificate as well as your passport. Immigration officers have seen this many times. It's no big deal.

No problem if it is in your maiden name. In Canada it is much more common for wives to retain their maiden names thn in the USA. In fact, in Québec it is required!!!
