Where can I get a free domain name?

I've just started writing html, and i know a lot of the basics. i designed a cool website on notepad, and now i want to turn it into a website. i'm completely fine with, instead of having example.com, having example.hostsite.com/other ending. I'm also completely fine with having advertisements on it. I really don't need anything fancy. I dont want one of those "ready in minutes, just drag n drop" websites. I know html. I want to make a website, and i already wrote the code. Please reccomend the actual site, and i dont want to pay anything. even like 99 cents. thank you :)

You can't. The closest you'll come is a free sub domain name using a free hosting service..

There are many great free domain names out there. I like r.gd best as they also give you free dns included and unlimited domains
