Can anyone start their own private army if they have enough money?
I hear about these private armies being contracted by our government. Is there some special process you have to go through, or just have a lot of money?
The question was, could I start my own.

If you have enough money you can hire your own private army (made of private military contractors)... but that doesn't mean you can just go starting wars and what not.

The "private armies" are not actually Army. They are contracted through the government for security and defense. Backwater is fairly common "private army" and they get paid roughly 60-80 thousand for three months of work.
You could start a Militia if you wanted to. To be an Army or military, you would have to represent a country.
