how many calories should i eat a day?
im trying to lose weight,im 16 and im a girl,i exercise an hour a day but im not sure how many calories i should eat to be healthy

1500 MINIMUM. A 16 year old girl needs 2000-2300 calories to maintain her weight, so cut out fast/fried/junk foods, sodas and sweets and do your hour's exercise and you will see results. Dropping below 1500 will NOT help you lose weight faster, so don't.

Several places I've read over the years suggest 11 calories per pound of body weight to maintain your weight. If you weigh 100 pounds, for example, that would be 1100 calories a day. You can eat quite a bit more if you're very active. In college I used to swim a mile a day 5 times a week, and I ate about 3,000 calories a day and was still too thin. To lose weight, eat fewer calories than 11 per pound.

Like the good people before have said it depends on your weight and age. Check out guides online for the recommended calorie intake for a female of your age. And this also depends on the type of exercise you do, you could be doing a lot of exercise and still be consuming too many calories. You want to burn off more calories each day than you consume to lose weight.

go to like weight watchers.com i would not count caleries its really hard and a waste of time i would suggest exersizing like a hour a day cardio and healthy foods whatevr that is. calerie counting you dont loose that much weight.
