How do I coach 7 & 8 year old girls to be more aggressive going after the ball?
I'm coaching a team of 11 girls, mostly 7 and some 8 years old. A few of them have the "eye of the tiger" and really get after the ball to take control of it, and the game. However, most of my girls are still hesitant to really attack the ball, unless it is exactly in front of them, and it's not being contested by any other player. Are there some drills that will build assertiveness with the ball? Some motivational thing I can say?

for motivation you could tell them "if your hesitant going to the ball you have a better chance of getting hurt" and "dont be afraid of the ball make the ball afraid of you" and just since there younger " having the ball is better than not having the ball"
some drills you could do

Well they could be too young and don't really know. Maybe you can make something up like a prize for the one who kicks the ball most aggressively ? Or something like that ^^
