If similarity breeds attraction, then why does the Myer-Briggs say opposites are better for each other?

I took the Myer-briggs and got INTP.  My girlfriend is ISTP.  We are very similar and attracted to one another and have a good relationship.  

I read that the ISTP is one of the least likely partners for an INTP and that INTP are better matched with ENTP.   I have to disagree with this theory of "compensating" or "balancing" each others traits.  Maybe for a business relationship, but not an intimate one which is about sharing similarities, having things in common, and breeding attraction and understanding.  I think your personality types should be close to the same.  What do you guys think?

"I read that the ISTP is one of the least likely partners for an INTP"  I'm surprised by this because you both match on 3 preferences.  Do you have a score that would have put you close to being a S or does your girlfriend have a score that puts her close to an N?  Sometimes people have scores that put them close to being one or the other so it could be taken either way (in your case S or N).

"then why does the Myer-Briggs say opposites are better for each other?"  I don't know but I disagree with this.  I once heard a psychologist say, "Opposites attract but they soon divide."  This makes sense when you think about it because it's true that similarity breeds attraction.  Dissimilar interests don't keep couples together - similar interests do.

Similarities i think of attracts people to a minimum of one yet another greater on the grounds which you finally end up assembly people doing an identical element as you. or maybe verbally if the pastimes are an identical the communique turns into plenty greater exciting
