That was a nice thing for your parents to teach you to think of others before yourself. To be honest, I don't remember trick or treating for Unicef, but I do remember collecting for it at other times of the year.

we did it the first year when i lived in manhattan. we could trick or treat inside some apartment buildings. i thought my partner was going to turn the money in but he kept it. that was the first year for unicef too. 1959?

I remember it being advertised. You have a nice memory of helping other children. Not sure if they even do it anymore.
