Upgrading Laptop Ram/Grounding Questions?
I'm going to be upgrading my laptop's ram and I have a few questions:
1) Do I always need to be touching a metal object while I am doing this? Or could I just touch/rub and continue on?
2) Is grounding for my safety or to assure that the new ram doesn't get damaged?
Thanks!

its to protect the hardware. for ram its no biggie, but if you want to be safe, use a static strap or ground yourself manually.

its so u dont fry ur ram but u should b fine, processors are the really sensitive stuff, one little shock and u could fry it, but i dont think ram is that bad, just touch something metal before u touch it or if u want u can buy an anti static bracelet
