Where can I get cardboard boxes for free?
I am due to move house soon and in need of some boxes. Supermarkets used to have loads by the tills but don't anymore... Any ideas welcome.

Liquor stores have boxes.
Drive in stores.
Asking someone in Wal Mart for boxes should get you some. If the first person says no, try another person.

I would still check the grocery stores. There's got to be one nice person there that will save you some. Go to a more local, or smaller store. I work at Albertsons and I get boxes for people all the time. I'm just nice like that I guess :) But I would go up there an ask not just call ahead. That way you can wait for them to go look. Ask when they get their next truck and then come that day, they'll usually have plenty then.

depends on where you live but usually there is a discount grocery store in the area & they let you take boxes or even pile them up by door for free.. also there are walmarts everywhere and i have gotten boxes from them before, just ask at counter or even people stocking shelves as they are glad to not have to tear down boxes and load into compactor... another source is to put add on craigslist but make sure you say free, there are a lot of scum bags who want big money for boxes they are going to toss lastly look for people moving in and offer to help in exchange for their boxes

Call your local Avon Lady... She'll have loads of boxes every week. They all come with lids and are all the same size. Perfect for packing and storing things.

go behind a Lowe's, Dollar tree, Walmart, just about any store has a recycle
bin and get them. They may be cut down but shipping tape will fix that.

In the "free" or "wanted" sections of Craigslist there are always people either asking for or giving away moving boxes.
