Why do people feel the need to thumbs down everything? PS No idiots to respond please!?

Question

Case 1: You are asked a question.... generally advice of some sort. So you respond having had similar experience or it is a subject you know enough to answer the question. 
You get thumbs down.
Case 2: You answer a question that interests you but you are unsure of the answer until you research it. You state what you researched and where you researched it.
You get thumbs down.

In both cases you get stupid answers from irritable individuals who think they are humorous and honestly think they can get away with quoting stand up comedians or they just respond with absolute crap that belongs on the ground of a field populated by cows. They get thumbs up, encouraging them further. It frustrates me so much. Maybe Yahoo should revert to people who answer credibly in certain subjects allowing them to thumb up or down and if you get enough thumbs down for being a tit get a short ban? Or do away with thumbs up/down?
Sorry to rant. Do you get as frustrated with the idiots too?

There is no rhyme or reason where the thumbs are concerned, some will give a thumbs up if there is already one BUT then there are the thumbs down trolls that give  a  thumbs down every answer just because they think it's funny.

Thumbs down should just be stopped as they are one of the most abused features on here and really mean nothing. 
The original purpose of giving them has been lost  which  was  to indicate  a  wrong  answer, and now they are mostly something trolls like to do and are given  by   users  that  disagree  with  the  answer or  don't  like  the  poster  or  the  avatar,  many  ridiculous  reasons   why  they  are  given..
  
  The thumbs down mean nothing point wise.  You get points on a thumbs up if your answer is chosen as best ---- up to a total of 50. 
Thumbs down should just be ignored even though they are irritating at times..Simple minds require simple pleasures and giving thumbs down makes them happy, pathetic but true.

I supply thumbs right down to solutions i recognize are incorrect, and ones that I strongly disagree with. It drives me loopy to make certain a factually incorrect answer get picked as perfect even as there are various more advantageous ideal solutions printed. perfect solutions that I purely disagree with are not any such massive deal besides the indisputable fact that.

usually one would be thumbed down if the reader finds it is innaccurate, that you are posting facts that are considered below their standards, that your knowledge is lesser than theres.... or that you posted something insulting or against them or other groups.

calling people idiots is offensive, and will no doubt earn you thumbs down.
