Graphics Card PCI or PCI-E?

I am so confused, according to dell, my computer (Dell Inspiron 531s) only supports PCI graphics cards. However, the card I own uses AMD Vision software that reports that my card and card slot type are PCI-E.

Update:

Wow, all this time I thought I was restricted to PCI cards.... ugh Dell, why have you lied to me? ):

Open up the case and look. I believe the Inspiron 531s has a half-height PCI-E x16 slot, so it can accept low profile cards. Of course the low wattage power supply restricts you... a Radeon HD 6450 or possibly a 5570 will be the highest you can go.

The 531s should come with a Radeon HD 2400 Pro, which is a PCI Express card. So Vision speaks the truth.

See your Dell Inspiron 531s is having a PCI-E slot in its motherboard.

See the picture of your computer's motherboard here in the link.

In this you can see 4 slots, out of this 2 white colored slots you are seeing are the PCI slots and 2 black colored slots you are seeing is the PCI-E slots.

Out of the 2 PCI-E slots the small one is PCI-E x1 slot and the big one is PCI-E x16 slot which is used for the PCI-E graphics card like what you are having.

So don't be confused. you can use the PCI-E GPU in your computer, and it will support.

DELL just lied to you, how surprising. (sarcastic)

I would recommend opening your CPU and taking a peek at the motherboard.

Check out images of slots, next time I would recommend an HP, DELL SUCKS
